Locanter is for people aged 16 and over. If you are 16 or 17, you need the consent of a parent or guardian to use the platform and to buy tickets.
Explore is Locanter’s swipeable discovery feed. You flick through full-screen events near you, save the ones you like, and the more you use it the more it tunes to your tastes. It is designed for stumbling on something to do, not searching for something you already know about.
Yes. Locanter learns from the events you view and save and adapts its recommendations to your tastes, so the events it surfaces get more relevant the more you use the app.
You can save any event with a tap or a swipe to keep it for later. Saved events live in your profile, so you can come back to them, plan ahead, and find your way back to the listing when you are ready to go or buy a ticket.
You can sign up and log in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password. Creating an account is free and takes only a moment.
Locanter uses your location to show events near you on the map and to work out how far away each one is. You are in control of the permission through your device settings, and you can still browse on the web without sharing it.
Yes. Locanter includes a Focus mode for a cleaner, more immersive way to browse events, which you can switch on in the app’s accessibility settings.
Every event and organiser page has a share button, so you can send a link to friends. Opening a shared link takes them straight to the event in the Locanter app or on the web.

Locanter can send notifications about events and updates relevant to you. You are always in control and can manage or turn these off in your device settings at any time.

Yes. Selected events on Locanter sell tickets directly in the app. You can buy in a couple of taps, and your ticket lives in the app with a QR code that is scanned at the door, with no printing needed.
Yes. Ticket payments on Locanter are processed securely by Stripe, a leading global payment provider. Locanter does not store your full card details, and the total you will pay is always shown before you confirm.
You can pay by debit or credit card through Stripe. On Android, you can also use Google Wallet for a faster checkout. The full price, including any service fee, is shown before you pay.
Tickets to free events cost nothing, with no fees at all. For paid tickets, a small booking and service fee, typically 4% of the ticket price plus €0.40 per ticket, is added at checkout, and the total is always shown before you pay.

If a host cancels an event, or makes a significant change such as the date, time, or location, you are entitled to a full refund: the host refunds your ticket price and Locanter refunds its service fee. Refunds go back to your original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days of approval.
Each event has a refund policy set by its host, shown on the event listing. Unless the host's policy or consumer law provides otherwise, tickets are not refundable if you simply change your mind. You can request a refund directly from your ticket in the app, and the host will review it.
Event organisers can sign up directly through the Locanter app or via the organiser sign-up form on locanter.com. Once approved, you can create and manage event listings that appear on the live map for local users to discover.

Locanter puts your event on a live, location-based map in front of people who are actively looking for something to do nearby, rather than advertising to an uninterested audience on social media. Listings can be discovered, saved and shared, helping you reach a genuinely interested local audience with far less effort.
Ticket money is collected securely by our payment processor, Stripe, and paid out to your bank account on a rolling basis. Funds from each sale become available roughly 3 days after the sale, with a slightly longer hold of around 7 days for your first event. There is no minimum payout threshold.
Create your organisation on Locanter, then complete a one-time payment onboarding with Stripe, which verifies your identity and connects your bank account. After that you can publish ticketed events with multiple ticket tiers and manage sales from the organiser hub in the app.
